Analysing a film opening sequence= Halloween 2

I will be analysing the first 1:45 of this scene.
The opening scene I am analysing is from the film Halloween II. I will be doing this using the different types of, genre, characters, enigma and the narrative.
The scene starts off with a woman dressed for the weather as there is snow on the floor. In the background we can see that there are high walls with barbed wire on the top. It looks like some sort of prison. It is a long shot as we cannot see the rest of the building.  As she walks on the camera follows her and she goes past a stone sign and there a play statue of a British guard and a candy cane. It is then cut into a mid shot of a guard opening a gate for the woman to go through. There is a close up of the sign and it says ‘Sanatorium’. This now makes us certain that it is either a horror or a thriller.  The scene carries over to where a boy and the women are sitting down. They are talking about why the boy is upset. He says he has a good dream and we can tell from this the film seems a bit wary. This now confuses us because they now have a laugh and a joke. At 1:40 a title pops up and it has a extraordinary sound of screaming and gunshots and the sound of a knife being dragged across a floor. The title says ‘Halloween 2'. In the opening scene it yet does not give away who the Antagonist and Protagonist are. The characters we see look like loving, caring but why does the women have to visit her son in a sanatorium.  The boy looks about 7 or 8 and children at that age should be at school or playing with toys but all he has is a white horse. It shows a sense of braveness as he is there without a family.  In the part I am analysing we cannot figure out the Enigma as the women and child are playing it as a everyday thing of visiting each other.
